Program areas at Babies Need Bottoms
In 2023, 500,481 diapers were distributed to families in need (a 27% increase from 2022). Babies Need Bottoms partnered with over 73 social service agencies in 16 Counties in Western NC to help meet this basic healthy and hygiene need for over 1,900 babies every month. Diapers were provided to community partners serving known clients and who were already regularly providing additional social services to support, stabilize and help lift families out of poverty; as well as to agencies serving walk-in clients facing acute crises, such as baby pantries, food pantries, and food markets, including some with mobile units or pop-up markets to expand into rural communities especially where transportation issues are a barrier for families.
In addition to diapers, Babies Need Bottoms distributed additional supplies of packages of baby wipes, tubes of rash cream, bottles of baby wash and canisters of infant formula when these additional supplies were available.
