The city of Austin works in conjunction with Austin Revitalization Authority and eleven east corporation in the Revitalization efforts. To encourage residential, commercial, and cultural development that promotes community well-being, while respecting the people, institutions and history of east Austin and other underserved communmities.

Program areas at Austin Revitalization Authority

To effect a comprehensive Revitalization of the commercial corridors of targeted areas in central east Austin, Texas. Austin Revitalization Authority (ara) and eleven east corporation (eec), in conjuction with the city of Austin and the private sector, will utilize public and private funds to encourage economic development and to combat community deterioration in these targeted areas. In addition, our most recent focus is on the development and preserving affordable housing both rental and homeownership.
