Au Sable Institute inspires and educates people to serve, protect, and restore God's Earth through expanded collegiate, field-based learning opportunities. Its faculty and staff offer 25 4-credit courses to 146 students from over 50 colleges and universities in Michigan, Washington, Costa Rica, and online. In addition, Au Sable serves 1,200 students and teachers from 5 school districts through regular visits to schools via their reys program, fall field trips to the institute, and one winter retreat.

Program areas at Au Sable Institute

In the college program, 15 4-credit courses were offered to students at a physical location in Michigan, 6 courses in Washington, 1 in costa rica, and 3 online. Credits were given to these students through members of our network of 51 affiliated colleges.
The retreat program served 146 individual guests.
The environmental education program for this year included regular visits to schools through our reys program, fall field trips to the Institute, and one winter retreat (retreat count only). We served students and teachers from five school districts mostly from northwest lower Michigan.
