Program areas at APPD
The Association sponsors spring and fall meetings during which the meeting programs will provide a comprehensive update for residency Program Directors and coordinators, with particular emphasis on the needs of new Program Directors and coordinators, with the major focus on Program requirements of the rrc and accreditation process. Additional features will include eras problem solving, role definition, conflict resolution, and orientation for house staff. Meetings also includes winter board retreat, appd hosted regional events, and other meetings and liaisons during the year.
Longitudinal education assessment research network (learn) was created to promote the development of educational assessment methods to be used by Pediatric residency programs for the purpose of improving measurement of learner outcomes and providing performance data for Program improvement.
The Association provides membership services for annual and regional meetings, newsletter, and membership directory. The Association provides convenient electronic services to its members such as list serves, website access, annual surveys, online registrations and dues renewal, electronic balloting, and notifications of upcoming events and opportunities, and meeting materials.
Lesson: longitudinal educational software solutions and outcomes network is a Program created to assist members in creating robust online curricula for pediatrics. The mission of appd lesson is to produce meaningful educational materials that advance the training of future pediatricians for the purpose of improving the health and well-being of children. Our vision is to advance exemplary Pediatric education through the assistance of educational technology, outcome-based curriculum development, and learner assessment.
Lead was created to provide outstanding training for educators aspiring to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become leaders in medical education.
Leapes is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and networking for Pediatric graduate medical education specialists who wish to gain expertise needed to successfully guide the success of graduate medical education programs and advance their gme careers.

The fuel (fostering uim education leadership) faculty mentoring Program aims to increase diversity in Pediatric medical education leadership through professional development and mentorship of underrepresented in medicine early career faculty. Participants will be exposed to the many careers in Pediatric medical education, as well as the professional development opportunities and educational leaders within the appd community. The Program is based on mentorship, sponsorship and representation with a focus on experiential learning.
Regional expenses are incurred for regional meetings and small research grants.
The special projects Program provides financial support for projects in the areas of learning technology, residency curriculum, educational research, residency evaluation, and faculty development.
The Association makes periodic organizational support grants to like-minded non-profit organizations. The Association reviews the requests for organizational support and decisions are based on a board vote.
The global health education scholarship provides the opportunity for international recipients to receive financial assistance to attend the appd annual spring meeting, speak at the global health peg meeting, participate in an educational exchange at a local hospital, and receive ongoing mentorship in global health education scholarship.
