Program areas at Association of Faith Communities of Santa Cruz County
Safe Spaces: Facilitates those living in their vehicles to stay overnight on church properties legally and safely. The AFC contracts with participating churches, and screens potential guests, with a goal of placing them into more permanent housing.
Managed encampments: Our rotating shelter, the Armory, Page Smith, Rebele Center and Paul Lee Loft just don't meet the need. A homeless population in the thousands without enough shelters, or rentals for our unhoused neighbors force people to take matters into the their own hands.
Faith Community Shelter: FCS provides shelter and two meals each day for nineteen individuals daily at 14 church sites. Services include meals, shelter, counseling, and placement services for transitional and permanent housing.
