Program areas at ABC
Education and training - leading the way in education and training - it has been abc of Georgia's goal to provide the most timely, comprehensive, and broad-based education and training support for members by closely monitoring industry trends and economic forecasts. In 2023, abc of Georgia continued its position in being a forward-thinking organization by anticipating and offering courses to fulfill the needs of an essential workforce industry. Abc of Georgia strengthened its reputation as a leading educator in the state's commercial construction industry. In 2023, 33 courses helped over 650 attendees become more productive for their companies.
Recognizing safety and construction excellence- abc honored member companies this year at its annual safety awards celebration, including 84 step (safety training and evaluation process) awards and 42 Georgia safety awards of excellence. Winners are noted for having achieved the lowest rate of on-the-job accidents in the state and demonstrating their commitment to safety. The excellence in construction awards competition is held biennially and highlights the innovation, quality and vision of a project's entire construction team-general and specialty Contractors, architects, engineers, owners and others. Safety courses: - osha-30 hour - osha 10-hour - rigger and signal person - fall protection
Building strong partnerships- abc hosted many networking and social events, helping plant the seeds of potential business relationships. Casual outings remained popular venues for members to mingle, spend quality time and discuss issues unique to the construction industry. Thirty-five (35) events were held in 2023 attracting nearly 4,500 attendees. - lunch and dinner meetings - member-sponsored open houses - business-after-hours - business over breakfast - two golf tournaments - two clay shoot - annual chili cook-off - two "meet & greet the general Contractors" with over 400 attendees - safety forum - young professionals network - recruitment luncheons and meetings providing prospects a clear, concise message on the benefits of joining abc of Georgia - ladies operating for growth in contruction (logic)
