Program areas at AUW
Asian University for Women with Support from auwsf and other national and international, public and private partners, is focused on the education and leadership development of Women, especially those who are bypassed by the systems at large. It attempts to systematically identify talent in the most unsuspecting of settings and helps cultivate those talents to mature. Auw students come from 17 countries across asia and the middle east. Auw hosts the largest single group of afghan and rohingya Women at any University. It has committed to the education of over 600 dalit Women drawn from bangladesh, india, nepal, sri lanka and pakistan as it continues to recruit and educate Women who work as textile factory workers and those who come from a background in religious schools. 85% of our students attend on full scholarship made possible by supporters from the world over. This past year saw the emergence of a new masters in education program. Plans for offering a new masters in apparel and textile management, funded by hsbc, were announced. New partnerships with johns hopkins University, boston college, middlebury college, the University of basel and a host of other institutions were formed. A new humanities program funded by the andrew w. mellon Foundation was established. Student enrollment saw a 90% increase. While additional rental facilities have supported the expansion of student enrollment, auw has also activated the construction of its ambitious new custom-designed campus. The flagship campus center which will provide state of the art academic facilities is expected to be completed by june 2025.
