Program areas at Artists Space
Artists Space fosters the artistic and cultural life of new york city as a primary venue for Artists' work in all forms, providing free access to its many exhibitions, performances, and public programs. Expanded art ideas, Artists Space's arts in education program, encourages both mainstream and special education students in new york city's public schools by augmenting middle and high school classroom curricula in the visual and language arts, producing publications and exhibitions of student work, and guiding students through applications for scholastic awards and entry into specialized arts high schools. We also have artist and exhibition catalogs for purchase, distribute a bi-weekly newsletter that recommends exhibitions and events around the city, and co-host a poetry reading series with segue foundation, a non-profit arts organization supporting the contemporary avant-garde since 1976.
