Program areas at Arkansas Values Institute
We initiated programs and provided grants to nonprofit organizations to fill gaps in civic-engagement infrastructure and to advance social change.
We also supported organizations working to increase public communication and education on issues of civic and social significance. This includes strategies for increasing civic engagement in communities historically left out of the civic process and educating such citizens about their voting rights.
We conducted research and convened events, briefings, individual and small group meetings, and interviews with philanthropists, nonprofit organizations, and civic leaders to educate and inform these stakeholders on the challenges and opportunities for impacting social change and civic engagement in Arkansas; and to get input from these stakeholders.
