During fy22, Arkansas Children's Research Institute (acri) received $16 million from the national institutes of health (nih) to support Research to advance knowledge that will guide the way injury and illness are prevented and treated in children. New nih-supported awards included a $25 million, 5-year project in which acri researchers began coordinating sites across 14 states in a study to better understand the long-term impacts of covid-19 on children across the nation. That Research could eventually lead to more effective treatments for children with covid-19. Acri provided the Research infrastructure to over 120 researchers who published their scientific findings in over 301 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles, of which 31.3% of the publications appeared in the top 10% ranking journals.
