Ataf planned and staged 19 share the road safety events throughout the state, including presentations to high schools, safety fairs and other venues with approximately 7459 in attendance at the events. The goal of the programs was to train participants on how to safely share the road with large trucks and buses. Ataf awarded eight scholarships totaling 12,000. Ataf contracted with scholarship management services to screen applicants, verify information and make final recommendations. Ten dependents of Trucking industry employees received 1500 scholarships.
