Program areas at Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs

Energy assistance - provides assistance for elderly and low-income households to meet energy bills to assure that they have heat through the winter. In 2022, 9,030 households were served.
Care management - provides a system that ensures delivery of appropriate services to senior and disabled individuals. In 2022, 2,454 individuals were served.
Area Agency on Aging - this program provides a wide variety of services to older individuals, including preparation and serving of meals (79,143 meals), provision of in-home health and home maintenance services (45,870 hours), access to senior activity center (3,284 hours), 76 seniors issued vouchers to the farmers market, and 4,976 individuals received information and assistance. The total number of senior citizens 60+ served was 11,266.
Housing - provides affordable housing project benefits to low-to-moderate income persons, older adults, physically and mentally disabled persons, homeless persons, and special needs populations. In 2022, 378 households were served. Weatherization - provides energy audits of homes in order to help the occupant conserve energy and save money. In 2022, 87 households were served. Community services - provides volunteer services to underserved persons within Area Iv Agency's eight-county service Area. In 2022, 86 volunteers participated in this program providing 218 hours of services to 707 individuals. Transportation - total number of individuals and trips for 2022 were 287 and 3,119. Area Iv transit provided transportation for older or mobility-impaired persons in benton county and the city of lafayette. Area Iv public transportation for all persons residing in rural tippecanoe county.
