Program areas at Aprovecho
We managed our 40 acres campus and continued our selective thinning forestry experiment. We produced several kiln loads of biochar, thinned understory grand fir, re-built three bridges over the creek, fertilized the land by introducing silvopasture practices to the land, removed several acres of invasive species, managed an orchard and expanded access to medicinal and nourishing plants, and many other aspects of land stewardship. This work has been part of our educational programming. We've held open houses, weekend workshops, and a series called "regenerating landscapes, restoring relations," which emphasized indigenous ecological practices.
