Description
Appalachian Literacy Initiative provides new books to elementary school age children multiple times per year within the Appalachian mountains geographical region. Our mission is to increase reading activities and improve reading scores on state standardized tests for rural and underprivileged students. By providing quality books, we aim to share a love of reading with these students, as studies show that increasing access to books can boost reading levels and decrease high stakes testing failures.
