Program areas at APL

Save a life: devoted to the rescue and care of sick, injured or homeless animals. The organization's facility can house approximately 25 dogs and approximately 200 cats and is usually operating at full capacity. Adoptions are a constant and ongoing process. Volunteers (and employees) walk all dogs at least three times a day. An on-site veterinarian is employed for the full-time care of the shelter animals.
Spay/neuter programs: educate the public and assist in spaying and neutering pets to avoid overpopulation. The organization operates a low-cost spay/neuter clinic within its facility and has three on-site veterinarians. Programs to help with the cost for feral cats and pit-bull breeds are also in existence.
