Follow and learn about the ocean and wetlands (flow) program is a citizen science program that brings students and community members together to test and examine the water quality in the wetlands and tidal inlet. Water samples are gathered and then tested and examined under a microscope to see what phytoplankton is present. Samples are sent to the California department of health.
Bolsa Chica state beach programs educate students and the public about health of the ocean, interconnectedness of the adjacent wetlands and water safety through activities, games and public awareness events.
