Raising awareness - activities include bringing to public attention the trade policy issues in aviation. This is accomplished using the following methods:a. grassroots - energizing aviation workers, travelers (business & leisure), and others to support Fair trade policy in aviation.b. Paid media - raise awareness about trade policy issues in aviation through paid advertisements.c. Media relations - monitoring and engaging with media to highlight aviation trade policy in the news and respond to stories in a timely fashion.thanks in part to the efforts of Americans for Fair Skies, both qatar and the united arab emirates have signed deals with the united states agreeing to end their illegal subsidy practices and market distorting tactics, to put a freeze on new direct flights between the united states and third countries, and to adopt greater financial transparency by publishing annual financial statements consistent with internationally recognized accounting standards. Americans for Fair Skies continues to monitor the activities of qatar and the united arab emirates and their compliance with these agreements.
