Program areas at American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians
The organization held its annual 3-day meeting in Las Vegas NV. Many members were in attendance with speakers encouraging advancement in the practice of interventional pain medicine. The organization has over 4,000 members. Sessions and lectures offered by distinguished keynote speakers included "Public Relations Campaign for Survival of IPM Practices During Long COVID" "Current State and Future Developments in Neuromodulation for Chronic Pain" "Documentation of Medical Necessity: An Algorithmic Approach to Epidural and Facet Joint Interventional LCDs and Evaluation and Management Services" "Solutions in Epidural Injections: Sodium Chloride Solution Local Anesthetic Alone or Steroids with Local Anesthetic? Do They Really Matter?" "Update on Changing Healthcare in the US". Break out sessions each day were also available with sessions on regenerative medicine billing coding & compliance endoscopic decompression fluoroscopy in IPM spinal cord stimulation peripheral nerve stimulation practice development and minimally invasive technologies.
The organization also offered webinars in interventional pain management throughout the year.
The organization held comprehensive board review courses in peripheral nerve stimulation and interventional techniques along with hands-on cadaver workshops in Memphis TN. Review courses in controlled substance management and practice management were also offered virtually during the year. These courses were held as a CME activity to prepare for competency certification. These courses were intended to present interventional pain management specialists nurses and other healthcare providers an in-depth review of multiple areas of interventional pain management.
