Program areas at American Institute of Hydrology
To enhance and strengthen Hydrology as a science and as a profession. Aih is the only technical organization in the us that offers certification to professionals nationwide and worldwide. At annual conferences, professionals have opportunities to share findings, advance the science, and recognize peer performance.
To provide a forum for the exchange of technical information among hydrologists and hydrogeologists. Information is disseminated through reports, peer-reviewed journal papers, and presentations at technical meetings and proceedings. Attendance at these meetings ranges from 100 to 350 professionals.
To establish professional qualifications for certification of hydrologists and hydrogeologists. Over the past 27 years, aih has certified more than 1400 hydologists and hydrogeologists, and and hydrologic technicians; and has been a national leader in establishing standards of operation and analysis for hydrologic studies.
