Negotiating and upholding a collective bargaining agreement on behalf of approximately 850 members and bargaining unit of about 1,700. Organizing members and bargaining unit and holding regular meetings to strengthen the solidarity of our union by giving all members opportunities for leadership and self-determination as union members and as university employees. Communicating with our members and bargaining unit about negotiations, events, and opportunities for increased involvement.
Holding regular social events to strengthen the solidarity of our union, promote the general welfare of graduate student employees and their families, and contribute to our local community.
Maintaining the Union's good standing and mutually beneficial relations with our affiliates, The American Federation of Teachers and its State federation, AFT-Oregon, through participation in conventions, elections, governance, training programs, and events.
