The afl-cio engaged in a wide range of activities on behalf of its affiliates and their members. These activities are designed to improve the lives of working families - to bring economic justice to the workplace and social justice to our nation. The afl-cio worked to build a broad movement of American workers by organizing workers into unions, and provided a voice for workers' interests on the job, in their communities, at all levels of government, and in the changing global economy.
