Program areas at American Dorper Sheep Breeders' Society
Organized sales - the adsbs hosts national sales for members to promote and market their Sheep at a premium to buyers across the u.s. and internationally. In 2022, adsbs hosted three sales in different states that marketed over 1,000 Sheep for 125 members.
Dorper publications - in 2022, adsbs distributed two major publications. The Dorper journal is a biennial publication with breed and member information that is distributed to events within the u.s. Sheep and lamb industry. Over 6,000 issues were printed and distributed. The Dorper report is a quarterly publication with educational resources and updates for memebers on adsbs official business. The Dorper report is mailed to 1,300 members in additional to being posted digitally on the website.
Youth program - in 2022, the adsbs had 130 youth members under the age of 21. In support of the youth program, adsbs dedicates a large portion of funds deducated to sponsoring youth educational events, youth show, and prizes for competitions.
