Program areas at American Academy of Family Physicians - Virginia Academy
One of the main focus areas of the Academy is to promote high quality, affordable continuing medical education. The Academy achieves this by hosting an annual meeting for all health care professionals in Virginia and neighboring states. In addition, the Academy hosts various seminars and symposia that focus on leadership and workforce enhancements within the industry. The seminars cover current medical issues, as well as, promote, encourage, and educate members on effective models of care and delivery.
The Academy assists in increasing continuity, expertise, and participation in the areas of legislation and advocacy for the interests of the Family physician, their patients, and an improved healthcare system.
