AMCHA Initiative investigates, documents, and reports incidents of anti-Semitism in American institutions of higher education. It educates the Jewish community and other members of the public about such incidents. Its advocacy efforts rely on two major groundbreaking reports that were released after investigative research. The first report, A Looming Crisis for the American Jewish Community: Campus Antisemitism and the Assault on Jewish Identity, revealed a pervasive climate of hostility towards Jews on many college campuses.

INVESTIGATING: release of two major groundbreaking reports, whose research is foundational for AMCHAs advocacy efforts. The first, A Looming Crisis for the American Jewish Community: Campus Antisemitism and the Assault on Jewish Identity, unearthed a pervasive and relentless assault on Jewish students identity, finding a staggering doubling of such threats at 60% of schools most popular with Jewish students. AMCHA's second report, Falling Through the Cracks: How School Policies Deny Jewish Students Equal Protection from Campus Antisemitism, revealed how school policies fail to address the predominant vehicle for antisemitism on campuses today (i.e., anti-Zionist-motivated harassment), leaving Jewish students vulnerable and endangered. Both reports were widely cited and received high praise in the Jewish press.DOCUMENTING: Crucial, on-going, real-time documentation in our publicly accessible database of antisemitic incidents on over 400 U.S. campuses, which saw enormous increases during this grant period;EDUCATING: disseminating AMCHA's important information analyses and approaches to combatting campus antisemitism and rally support for AMCHA's efforts through hundreds of articles and interviews in dozens of outlets and on social media, numerous targeted op-eds, and 13 bulletins;COMBATING: sustained grassroots, coalitions and media campaigns that advanced AMCHAs three core advocacy initiatives: 1) Combatting the adoption of antisemitic ethnic studies curricula in California high schools seeking to implement the state-mandated ethnic studies graduation requirement; 2)Combatting the implementation of academic boycotts of Israel on U.S. campuses; and 3) Efforts to ensure all public and private colleges and universities adopt policies that afford equal and adequate protection for Jewish and Zionist students on their campus.
