Alight Alliance to Lead Impact in Global Human Trafficking empowers human trafficking survivors by connecting them to pro bono legal services so they and their families can continue on their journey to true freedom. In fiscal year 2023, Alight provided services to 127 victims and survivors of human trafficking, including new survivors and those with new or continuing cases, and their approximately 178 dependents/children on 269 legal cases.

Program areas at Alight Alliance to Lead Impact in Global Human Trafficking

in fiscal year 2023, Alight provided services To 127 victims and survivors of Human Trafficking, of which 50 were new survivors and 74 were survivors with new/continuing cases, and their approximately 178 dependents/children on 269 legal cases. A total of approximately 305 individuals impacted by Trafficking benefited from the legal services provided. Alight worked with 242 vetted pro bono attorneys in the Alight legal network representing expertise in over 20 legal areas, along with additional attorneys To support survivors across the us.in response To the significant volume of need and requests for assistance from partners, Alight expanded To los angeles, california.alight continued To work with the survivor advisory, composed of three survivor leaders from three different states To provide insights from their lived experience To improve programming and support Alight's responsible scaling.we are greatly strengthened by the generous in-kind contributions that allow Alight To operate efficiently and benefit as many lives as possible. Alight volunteer attorneys provided specialized support To survivors. Organizational volunteers and other in-kind contributions are valued To have provided $37,512 To the organization.in the interest of survivor privacy and service expediency, fulsome data collection from survivors and partners at the time of service may be limited. There are occasions that Alight obtains additional information and revises results accordingly.national survivor law collectiveat the height of the Global pandemic in 2020, Alight founded the national survivor law collective (nsl collective) along with other u.s. Organizations focused on providing free legal services To victims and survivors of all forms of Human Trafficking, regardless of gender identity, nationality or age. The nsl collective works To provide a strong collective response To this population's legal and other needs across the u.s. The nsl collective operates the only national listserv of Human trafficking-focused legal services providers. in fiscal year 2023, the nsl collective co-published the legal deserts 2.0 report, which provided recommendations for addressing the lack of legal services available To survivors. The report specifically highlighted alights work in this area.trainings:in fiscal year 2023, Alight provided or facilitated the provision of trainings To support over 320 attorneys, service providers, anti-trafficking experts, law students and the community To improve Human Trafficking survivors' access To justice and support trauma-informed and culturally competent legal services for this population. The venues included shared hope international, the Colorado womens bar association and the Colorado lawyer assistance program.
