Under graduate students working to achieve microbiology or pharmaceutical science degrees will have the opportunity to take courses at cbet, while graduate students in the newly created masters in biomanufacturing and bioprocessing program will conduct most of their coursework at the center. As the only College in the country to own and operate two pharmacies, acphs is able to provide students with unique opportunities to learn the entire range of Pharmacy operations - from patient care to inventory management. The College also provides services at the collaboratory, "laboratory for collaboration", providing programs that address social justice and social determinants of Health, with the shared goal of improving population Health.
Research: research is a key component of the academic life at acphs. Faculty and students at the College are involved in a wide range of research projects, across clinical, population Health and basic life Sciences. The College offers specific programs and activities designed to encourage student research. Complementing these efforts is the pharmaceutical research institute (pri) at acphs, a research facility dedicated to the development of nano-pharmaceutical agents. Pharmacy students, graduate students, and visiting scholars from around the world visit pri to conduct research. Between the Albany campus, Vermont campus, and pri, the College has approximately 21,000 square feet of bench research space. Acphs investigators benefit from the College's proximity to other research-based institutions where existing relationships allow access to additional equipment, laboratory space, and potential collaborators.
