Program areas at Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation
Conducted the annual patient advocate program in conjunction with the annual san antonio Breast Cancer symposium (sabcs), a 5-day program in which scholarship advocates and patient advocates meet with physicians and researchers from over 68 countries that provides a forum for interaction, communication, and education for researchers, health professionals, and others interested in Breast Cancer.
As a member of the national Breast Cancer coalition, abcf runs a grassroots advocacy program to increase funding for Breast Cancer research, improve access to screening and treatment for women, promote medical research, and involve those with Breast Cancer in research.
Sponsored programs to educate the public about the latest clinical trials and treatments, early detection and nutritional information, phychosocial and legislative issues via a website, 24 hour bilingual helpline, seminars, and health fairs.
