Aerospace Heritage Foundation of UT provides capital support to Hill Aerospace Museum for facility improvement, museum expansion, and projects that are not eligible for Air Force funding. In addition to this, the foundation aims to educate and excite individuals about aerospace heritage. United states congressman, blake moore, of Utah's first congressional district, once again participated in the tournament. -the legislative affairs committees of the ogden/weber chamber of commerce, davis chamber of commerce, and northern Utah chamber coalition all list the expansion project of the hill Aerospace museum as a top priority for supplemental legislative funding during the 2022 legislative session. 3 million was appropriated by the 2022 legislature for the museum expansion. Foundation executive director, robb alexander serves as the chair of the military affairs sub-committee of the davis chamber of commerce legislative affairs committee. -architectural nexus, the design team for the hill Aerospace museum expansion project continued to work closely with museum and Foundation personnel. -r & o construction was selected as general contractor for the museum expansion project from an excellent group of contractors that applied for the project. -the Foundation's plane talk lecture took a hiatus during 2022 due to covid-19 protocols. Plane talk will resume in january 2023. -Foundation executive director, robb alexander was appointed to the executive committee of the state of Utah museum board by governor spencer cox. -the alsam Foundation of salt lake city fulfilled their pledge of 3 million to the museum expansion project. The new gallery will be named the l. s. skaggs gallery in honor of mr. l. s. skaggs the founder of the alsam Foundation. -the new hill Aerospace museum icbm exhibit was formally unveiled to the public at a ribbon cutting event on october 6, 2022. The Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah raised the funds to build and equip the fabulous new exhibit. -the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah sponsored the annual hill Aerospace museum volunteer luncheon held at the Texas roadhouse restaurant in layton, Utah. -Foundation executive director, robb alexander met with john e. lindquist to pick-up a donation checks in the amount of 100,000 to be used for the l. s. skaggs gallery expansion. -the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah continued an oral history project, interviewing long-time Foundation board members, museum volunteers and others. 2022 oral histories were completed on terry bean and russ westcott. Other interviews will be held in the future. -donation boxes, credit card donation kiosks, wishing wells, and the foto booth located throughout the museum brought in 58,000 during 2022. -3,834,146.07 in gifts and grants were receipted by the Aerospace Heritage Foundation from july through december of 2022 from 155 donors. Major gifts/grants included, 3,000,000 from the alsam Foundation, 500,000 from weber county ramp, 100,000 from mr. john e. lindquist, 87,500 from the state of Utah, 50,000 from northrop grumman Foundation, 10,0000 from the mattie wattis harris Foundation, 10,000 from the glam Foundation, 10,000 from r & o construction. Unrestricted funding was received from the state of other major gifts throughout the year included funding from nasa space grant consortium, america first credit union, swire coca-cola, kier construction, the alan and jeanne hall Foundation and rocky mountain power. 3,000,000 was appropriated by the state legislature during the 2022 session for the hill Aerospace museum expansion. Foundation members worked diligently in securing the appropriation. Those funds are held by mida (military installation development authority). A total of 7,379,285 was received in gifts and grants during 2022. -fifteen museum aircraft are currently being sponsored by generous donors through the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah. The museum's b-17, b-24, c-47, f-4c, f-16 a model, f-16 "little precious," f-16 thunderbird, f-111, p-40, p-47, p-51, sr-71, the jenny, the u-2 dragon lady, the ch-3 helicopter and h-53 helicopter are all a part of the program. These annual sponsorships raise much needed unrestricted funds for the museum. Two new sponsorships in 2022 include the f-16 thunderbird, and the u2 - dragon lady. -the flight line gift shop, which is operated by the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah, had 573,497 in gross sales for the year 2022 (non- audited). The flight line gift shop found additional success with its online store allowing patrons to purchase gift shop items "virtually." -the flight line gift shop sold merchandise at the 2022 wings over the wasatch air and space shop in june of 2022. They did more than 26,000 in business at the air & space show. -Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah administrative assistant, camille hazeldine, created a virtual tour program for of a number of hill Aerospace museum aircraft. Virtual tours were created for the b-17 flying fortress, the c-140 jetstar, the sr-71 blackbird, the c119g flying boxcar, the c-124c globemaster ii, the c-47 skytrain, as well as the icbm exhibit launch control center, and the museum's 8th air force exhibit. -Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah website and social media statistics for the period of july 1, 2022, through december 31, 2022, are as follows. -from july 1, 2022 - december 31, 2022, the aerospaceutah.org web site experienced more than 155,000 webpage views with 51,225 new visitors. The aerospaceutah.org web site had 209,895 views in 2022 with 71,569 new visitors. -as of december 31, 2022, the hill Aerospace museum/aerospace Heritage Foundation facebook page had 9,884 followers. This was a 19.6% increase over previous year. Facebook reached people in every state and in numerous cities throughout the united states and 53 foreign countries during the period. 334,878 people were reached on our facebook page between july 1, 2022, and december 31, 2022. 774,273 people were reached throughout all of 2022. -the Aerospace Heritage Foundation continued to work with forthgear to update the museum collection webpage. The collections page is now divided into the following aircraft types: attack aircraft, bomber aircraft, cargo aircraft, early aircraft, fighter aircraft, helicopters, and surveillance aircraft. Within each section each aircraft is listed with photograph (s), specific information on each aircraft, aircraft specifications, the aircraft's mission and tie to hill air force base, frequently asked questions, other media on the aircraft, as well as a link to items in the flight line gift shop related to the aircraft. -the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah continued to take advantage of its 10,000 per month google ad words grant. Through forthgear, our seo provider, a google ad words campaign continued highlighting key search terms or words to attempt to bring aerospaceutah.org to the top in all google searches for the museum. During the period july1, 2022 through december 31, 2022, in the google ad words campaign there were 28,750 impressions with 620 clicks for a click through rate of 2.7%. -the Aerospace Heritage Foundation of Utah continued working with forthgear to conduct search engine optimization work for the aerospaceutah.org web site.
