Program areas at Advent House Ministries
A. Housing programs - permanent supportive housing/rapid re-housing/shared housing intervention programs - these programs provide supportive services, including case management, advocacy and referral for literally homeless and doubled up individuals and families. Rental assistance is available with case management to individuals and families with high vulnerability and history of homelessness. This program assisted over 350 households, including single adults and families with children. In addition, ahm emergency rental assistance program continued throughout most of 2022 and assisted over 2,500 households to pay rent and avoid eviction and homelessness.street outreach program - this program served the tri-county ingham, eaton, clinton area with direct intervention for individuals and families living on the street or other places not meant for habitation. Over 450 persons found living on the street, in encampments, or other places not meant for habitation were assisted with shelter, support services, and assistance accessing housing programs. Hotel shelter program - this was a temporary program supported by mshda and the city of lansing to provide safe shelter in area motels for those who were unable to find available space in area overnight shelters. This program served over 125 households, including single adults and families with children. Households were assisted in accessing supportive services and housing while in the program.
B. Weekend day shelter program - this program provides hot meals and a gathering place for homeless people and neighborhood residents on weekends, where guests are able to stay all day. Approximately 2,300 people participated, and more than 32,000 meals were served.
