Community Transformation Projects: The AIM Center of Hope construction is going well as we began Phase 2 of the project. More than 500 children are enrolled in the K through 8 classes. In the dorm on the campus, 9 children from poor background are housed and given a chance to be educated in a school that they cannot afford otherwise. Our goal is to Empower these children so they can grow up and impact their communities to bring lasting change. 68 study tables were given to children in Philippines. 17 Bicycles were given to children so they can commute to school. 751 pressure cookers were given to the family of these children so they can cook food more efficiently. 500 care packages were given to families suffering from the effect of Covid-19. The packages contained grocery, lentils, oil and other essential food. 868 warm blankets were given to children. 820 medicine kits were were distributed to those affected by covid. 2 clean water wells were drilled in impoverished villages. 1 motorcycle was given to a national leader. 1250 relief packages to flood victims in Assam and West Bengal, India. Our generous donors help us meet the real needs of people around the world and we are extremely grateful for them. In Philippines, 250 families were provided relief packages, solar lights, mosquito nets and bottled water after Typhoon Odette. In Thailand, children and their families were given farm animals like, chicken, fish, wardrobes, mattresses and shoes.
Giving Children Hope GCH: Our work among the impoverished children of our world through GCH is the flagship work of AIM. The goal of GCH is to nurture children in developing nations to dream big dreams and break the cycle of poverty. There are more than 821 children in our program in India, Nepal, Tanzania, Ecuador, Thailand and Philippines. Most poor children in developing nations drop out of 8th grade and work odd jobs to provide for their family. We encourage families to think long term as they face incredible hardships every day. Staying in school and getting educated is the most effective means to have a better future. However, most families rather work and contribute to the survival of the family. Our Community leaders put a lot of effort to keep them in school convincing them of the long-term benefit. These children receive free tutorials, school uniforms, books, shoes, nutritious meals, and toiletries for personal hygiene. Thankfully the students and school are not affected by covid lock downs anymore. Children are happy to be back in school. However, for the poor children catching up in their education continues to be a challenge.
Community Outreach and Training: We train community leaders to engage in helping with the needs of the poverty-stricken community. Especially, impacting the most vulnerable in their communities, financially struggling families, children and widows. AIM sends their staff and team to these countries to motivate and assist them in their work. We greatly appreciate the commitment as they sacrificially serve communities that face incredible economic and social challenges.
