Aec is the oldest family planning clinic in hidalgo county, located in the lower rio grande valley on the southern Texas border with mexico. . Throughout the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, as an essential health care provider, aec has maintained delivery of services, keeping all clinic sites open and operational through the use of appropriate protocols to ensure the safety of its patients and staff. Despite the negative effects and impact of the pandemic on the community's residents, aec provided high-quality and affordable preventive, reproductive, and sexual health care services to 15,774 unduplicated individuals in 2022, with 23,803 medical visits in 2022.
