Program areas at Lincoln Memorial Foundation
Lincoln Memorial Foundation's (lmf) community health collaborative houses all community health initiatives that extend outside the walls of Lincoln Memorial hospital (lmh). Its vision is to create the healthiest community in the nation. Current initiatives include the lmh market providing access to fresh produce and free health screenings to all in our community; the coordinated approach to child health (catch) program promotes healthy eating and physical activity impacting over 15 schools with 3,200 local students; supporting district 27 for social emotional professional development by providing over $20,000 in grants, mbh mosaic grant $93,516 and Lincoln park district $5,500.
Health education and outreach program is a major tenet of lmf funding. In order to ensure a supply of talented Healthcare workers down the road, lmf has established a program that provides educational grants to local students with commitments to return to the hospital upon graduation. In fy2022, lmf awarded 9 educational grants in the amount of $46,278 to local students and colleagues. Lmf also has a fund for its colleagues to have an opportunity to further their professional careers by obtaining certifications. Lmf funded 13 certifications totaling $5,645 in fy2022.
Lmf uses charitable gifts to purchase medical equipment and patient care items for lmh, which in the past year included a purchase of upgrades to the fitness court $5,471, created bike path $10,235 and purchased equipement for echocardiography lab $29,475.
Lmf has a gift shop within the hospital, a pink shutter which is a second hand store and lifeline which provides a medical alert for subscribed patients.
