Program areas at Aberdeen Library Foundation
In past years the library foundation received technology grants from 3M to be used for the children's programs to promote technology and science. The library director provides a list of educational materials to the foundation for purchasing to promote creative thinking for the young children's program.
The library requested funds for some adult programs that was not in the budget that the foundation has provided the funds to assist with the program to generate socialization with in the senior population
The foundation has finished collecting funds for the new library, the last pledge was received in 2022. So going forward when the library can coordinate an event or contract a new service that has not been budgeted by the city, the foundation may approve to fund the event or service. In 2022 the library was unable to coordinate an event, they started planning for events in 2022 to take place in 2023.
