Transportation modernization grant: A for Arizona operates the Arizona transportation modernization grants to modernize k-12 transportation options and improve access to reliable and safe transportation for students. The grant program, administered through the A for Arizona expansion & innovation fund, supports locally driven solutions to provide reliable access for more families to the public learning options that best meet each child's needs. Grant awardees will deliver A wide range of solutions to tackle problems identified at the local level. This includes solutions to provide direct to family grants to help assist with transportation costs, high-efficiency vehicles to bring down short-term and long-term costs, innovative approaches to technology to create more efficient routes and better communication with parents, micro-transit efforts to target key subgroups of students, and collaborative solutions to target underserved communities. In this grant cycle, approximately $7 million was allocated to support 24 unique proposals representing A wide range of solutions to target underserved student populations or communities looking to modernize their approach to k-12 transportation.
Southern Arizona microgrant: A for Arizona operates the southern Arizona microgrant that will empower innovative school and community leaders, teachers, and families to implement their bold ideas for reimagining learning models, creating and scaling more student-focused programs, and developing better teaching and learning educational approaches. Education and entrepreneurs in southern Arizona are known for innovative collaborations, first-of-its-kind community-driven concepts, and disruptive student-focused models of learning. The quality and caliber of our local leaders show they have bold ideas and are eager to develop creative solutions to address the current challenges facing our k-12 education system. By embracing innovation, collaborative partnerships, and entrepreneurial mindsets, Arizona has A tremendous opportunity to leverage these success points and scale models that enable students to thrive. A for Arizona provided up to $25,000 in seed funding through their expansion & innovation fund for bold proposals that accelerate education innovation and opportunity for pre k-12 students in southern Arizona. Eligibility was limited to pre k-12 entrepreneurs in cochise, pima, santa cruz, and yuma counties.
Innovation grant: A for Arizona launched A $6 million grant opportunity to help Arizona public schools replicate programs that provide meaningful results for students and develop innovative solutions focused on student excellence. This $6 million effort is supported by federal relief dollars provided to increase high quality education options and invest in bold ideas by Arizona's entrepreneurial educators. A for Arizona will distribute the dollars through its expansion & innovation fund to eligible public school teachers, principals, or system leaders who are reimagining education models, accelerating best practices, and innovating around community-based solutions.
