Program areas at 314action
As part of 314 Actions core principle to increase civic engagement within the STEM Community, our President and staff attended and presented at many scientific conferences in 2023 such as Chemical Biologist Graduate Symposium, American Association for the Advancement of Science Annual meeting, Science Policy Workshop, Lab Coats in the Legislature, Cornell University, 314 Action PI Day event, Society of Gynecology, and the Society for Women Engineers. Attending these conferences allows 314 Action leadership to engage with policy makers, thought leaders and key activists. Once a quarter 314 Action hosted policy, political and informational briefings with supporters, activists and the public to give them access to experts in public policy, legislation, governing and science. Additionally, 314 Action continued to build a national STEM voter file that allows us to find close to 400,000 STEM professionals who have expressed an interest in civic engagement and potentially a willingness to run for public office. This file allows 314 Actions team to engage these STEM professionals in a variety of ways.
