Program areas at 21st Century Leaders
Summer residential leadership programs 21st Century Leaders' flagship program since 1991, the summer leadership institutes are one-week residential institutes focused on leadership development and career exploration programs for diverse high school students from across the state of Georgia. Three of our 4 one-week summer leadership institutes took place on a college campus as a residential program, with 298 high school students across the state. After two years of hosting our summer leadership institutes as adapted virtual programs, we returned to in-person programming during june and july with 24 days of live training. Homework centers our homework center program established after-school tutoring and academic enrichment programs in Georgia title 1 elementary schools for up to four years at each school. In the 2021-2022 school year the program served 229 students in nine schools within six school districts. Due to continued covid-19, the homework centers started the year in some hybrid capacity, impacting some attendance, but was back in more consistent in-person engagement and extra-curricular opportunities and activities. School-year programs 21st Century Leaders provides a number of experiential learning opportunities throughout the school year. We served 1,260 students through our online learning platform, leadership connect, with 96% of students enrolled received free access. We delivered 130 modules of gamified content in seven core leadership competencies within leadership connect, diversity and inclusion training, financial literacy, health and wellness, etc. We served over 700 students in 25 school and community based 21club across partnering high schools/community centers across Georgia.
