Cause IQ now displays nonprofit regulatory information in a Regulatory status tab on organization profile pages. We also added a downloadable PDF report with key regulatory and organization details. These updates make it easier to review a nonprofit's IRS status and other compliance-related information when evaluating a potential grantee, researching a client, or conducting other due diligence.

View regulatory information on organization profiles

Open an organization's Cause IQ profile page, scroll down to the tabs on the left-hand side, and click the "Regulatory status" tab to review information from the IRS and California regulatory sources.

The tab includes:

• IRS 509(a) classification based on the organization's BMF foundation code and most recent Form 990 Schedule A
• Business Master File (BMF) information
• Publication 78 status
• Most recent Form 990 filing details
• California AB-488 status
• Changes to the organization's BMF listings

Where available, Cause IQ also shows relevant reporting dates and the date we last checked each source for updates.

The new Regulatory PDF report includes key organization details, financial trends, IRS 509(a) classification, BMF and Publication 78 information, recent Form 990 filing details, and California AB-488 status.

To download this report, click the "Download" button in the upper-right of an organization's profile page and select "Regulatory PDF" from the dropdown menu.
