What coverage of nonprofits does Cause IQ have?

Cause IQ has IRS-registered nonprofits in the U.S. that complete the Form 990, Form 990-PF, Form 990-EZ, and Form 990-N (e-Postcard)

Cause IQ contains all IRS-registered tax-exempt organizations that complete the full Form 990, Form 990-PF (for private foundations), Form 990-EZ, and Form 990-N (e-Postcard). Among these, we include all tax-exempt types are included, such as 501(c)(3) charities, 501(c)(4) political organizations, and 501(c)(6) trade associations, among others.

The Form 990-EZ and Form 990-N are used by very small organizations, typically with less than $200,000 in revenue. Since these are condescended versions of the nonprofit tax return, the information available isn't as robust as full Form 990 or 990-PF filers.

What's missing? Cause IQ won't have information on many churches and church-affiliated organizations, because the IRS does not require them to file Form 990s or other disclosure documents.
