Program areas at Oakcliff Sailing

The acorn and sapling training programs included offshore, inshore, high performance, and foiling sessions. The residential uspa high school reduced as covid allowed for traditional schooling. To fill the 'off season and in addition to all of the winter training in the sapling apprenticeship program, winter saplings and graduates traveled south for professional development in multiple regattas including j70 mixed+ circuit which has 50% or more females on each boat and to compete in the melges 24 national championships.
International training & events: Oakcliff hosted 14 graded match race events and the triple crown series. The triple crown is to support olympic hopefuls and provide direct athlete support that us Sailing does not. Oakcliff continues to run more match racing than anywhere else in the world and as a result american sailors have risen to the top of the international match racing rankings.
Offshore competition: Oakcliff sent nearly 80 people onboard 5 boats in the legendary 635 mile newport to bermuda race. The Oakcliff fleet included 3 farr 40s, one that raced as an all-girls high school team sponsored by the bitter end yacht club and the largest boat in the fleet, oc86. The farr 400 team competed in both mackinac races and harbor springs and there were many other events including safe harbor regatta, vineyard race, block island race and ida lewis which kept the trainees on.
