The Fair Trade certified label combines a range of economic, environmental, and rigorous social criteria that are independently audited as part of Fair Trade USA certification. These criteria reflect Fair Trade USA's mission to promote an innovative model of sustainable production, conscious consumerism, and shared value to improve farm workers, fishermen, and producers' livelihoods with their families and communities around the world. Today's consumer wants products sourced responsibly by companies invest in Fair Trade certification. We added 85 new partners in 2022, who are responding to the will of their shoppers and investing supply chain resilience. This interconnected ecosystem of producers, consumers, and the market has never been more promising. 12,500 plus products carry the Fair trade-certified seal. By putting our seal on goods made responsibly, fairly, and sustainably, we make it easier for people to choose products that align with their values. Fair Trade coffee continued its growth at 16%. Consumer packaged goods are stronger than in the past 5 years-reflecting a 9% year-over-year increase.
In 2022 as we make investments in growing and scaling our model, the Fair Trade certified factory program, as part of these investments, continues to expand and grow its impact by building upon a foundation of impact and market expansion in the beauty industry to have a manufacturing facility become Fair Trade certified. The factory program grew by 15%. By the end of 2022 we have a total of 97 Fair trade-certified factories located in 20 countries around the world.
Fair Trade USA has grown by continuously working in a resilience and innovation market-based model, leading the charge toward sustainable development and responsible business by forming Fair and honest partnerships across the globe. It begins with the vision for how Fair Trade programs catalyze change in the lives of people around the globe. Since its inception in 1998, and in partnership with more than 1,500 companies who have chosen Fair Trade certified to meet their sustainability goals, farmers, workers, and fishers across 51 countries have been able to access markets more equitably and earn more Fair pay for their hard work. This ecosystem is increasing by 65% consumer trust and brand awareness in an evolving market. In 2022 we achieved our biggest milestone of exceeding $1b in financial impact on farmers, workers, fishers, and communities around the globe.
