Program areas at Wormfarm Institute
Fermentation fest: a ten day annual festival and country tour that links the agriculture and the arts. Over 18,000 people atetended, 46 classes were conducted, over 40 local businesses benefitted, 5 service organizations were involved, and artists and performers participated.
Artist residency: long running program hosts up to 8 artists each year elected through a competitive application process from may-october. Selected artists (visual, literary and music composition) work on their own personal creative development while learning sustainable farming practices. The artists in residence share the results of their residency with the community in exhibitions, workshops, lectures, performances and readings held in the wollen mill gallery. In 2012 over 1000 people experienced the work of 6 resident artists.
