The Women's Empowerment Conference (WECon) is one the largest and most noteworthy events hosted by WCC. WE Con is an annual conference that takes place in the Spring and brings together the people of Central Texas to collaborate and create new understandings of how to support women and girls across our differences. We aim to make this event community driven as possible and want community members to take an active part in the design and support this conference, in partnership with representatives from WCC.
Alt Girl Cinema brings an alternative cinematic representation of women's lives to Austin through monthly screenings. Alt Girl deviates from the mainstream, screening contemporary art films across a plethora of genres, including horror, sci-fi, documentary, experimental, and more. Alt Girl stresses the importance of complex characters giving a multidimensional view of womanhood in today's society.
