Program areas at WGHA
Member events & services - wgha convenes member organizations throughout the year for discussion of relevant topics and to hear distinguished speakers. Despite the challenges with pivoting to all virtual, wgha successfully hosted several events. Highlights include a conversation with congresswoman pramila jayapal, bombardier blood film screening and fireside chat with chris bombardier, and an equitable access to Health panel conversation. The annual Global Health awards was held virtually with a Global audience and we now have 6,000 subscriptions to our bi-monthly newsletter.
Women in Global Health seattle - women in Global Health seattle serves a mailing list of 900+ professional women and male allies through four quarterly events and structured small groups to facilitate networking and peer mentoring. Whether meeting in-person or virtually, wgh seattle events bring together women dedicated to improving access to Health care and equity in leadership.
Stem Global - to connect students traditionally under-represented in science to Global Health careers, stem Global brought hands-on experience and curricular through hosting virtual workships. We adapted stem Global curriculum so educators could deliver it via remote teaching during the pandemic. We also supported participation in science camps for disadvantaged youth.
