The purple ribbon awards honor the countless heros of the domestic violence movement including advocates, programs, shelters, survivors and members of the community support system.
The wish list program helps shelters generate donations that come in the form of donors buying items for shelters that the shelters have noted as critically needed. Donors select a shelter on domesticshelters.org and purchase the items. Theresa's Fund in turn and through an automated process, purchase those items online and ship them to the selected shelter.
The primary service of Theresa's Fund is the operating of the website domesticshelters.org, the second most visitied domestic violence website in the world. The website raises awareness of the services avalible in the united states and canada for those experiencing domestic violence. It works to make it faster and easier for victims of domestic violence, their friends, their family, and shelter providers, to connect and get information best suited to their needs.
