The Washington Literacy Center provides small group instruction to district of columbia adults to improve their basic read, math and workplace skills. The wlc accomplishes this goal with a small professional staff to deliver direct services, and volunteers to provide additional support. Approximately 80 students participated in the program.
Wlc is a vendor for the temporary assistance for needy families (tanf), a dc dept of human services contract that provides income assistance, educational training, and other supportive services to low income families with children.
