Family visiting: a certified parent educator certified in the parents as teachers curriculum visits families with children ages 0-5 to coach parents on how to support their child's healthy development and make connections to resources that lead to increased parent empowerment, family stability, and well being.family visits are completed at schools, homes, clinics, and/or in other community locations and the program is modeled to retain flexibility to identify where parents are in the parenting continuum and taylor services to meet their needs. Family visiting has a menu of available services, including short and long-term home visiting, developmental screenings, and extensive guided referral and resource connections. Family visits can be completed virtually or in-person.
Developmental screenings: parents and caregivers can complete a free online developmental screening for their child and receive the results of the screening from a parent educator within 5 business days. The screening is called the ages and stages questionnaires (asqs) and it evaluates 6 domains: language, gross motor (using arms and legs), fine motor (using fingers and hands), problem-solving, personal-social and social/emotional skills. Depending on the screening results, connections can be made to early intervention, healthcare, or other resources.
Group connections: group connections are one of the four components of the parents as teachers program. Families will learn child development information, meet other families with similar aged children and engage in and learn more about caregiver/child interaction.
