Program areas at Smooth Transitions
Culinary - graduated two classes of at-risk students, many from local tribes and the Department of Rehabilitation. These students all passed the culinary program, and all went on to be employed at the end of the program. In addition, the program served 75 senior citizens a day preparing fresh cooked meals on site through the culinary program. Students not only were able to obtain culinary experience, but the program served the community.
Testing center: the pearson vue testing center provides career focused industry tests, and students on site can complete their tests. 1900 students tested at the testing site, including those in the ged program.
GED/ ABE / ESL Program: At this time the program has graduated over 200 extremely at-risk students with their GED. The average graduation rate in the county is 3-4% through traditional programs. Out program has a 67% graduation rate among students who are on some kind of government aid.
