Program areas at Ponheary Ly Foundation
Enrichment programs include English, Technology, Events, Libraries, Sports, Music, and Arts. We taught 434 students English during the year and supported the teaching staff at 5 locations. Another 38 students were enrolled in advanced English courses in private schools through scholarships. We taught 256 students computer skills as a central component of continuing education. We served 1,502 students through the Library program by purchasing books and games and by providing training and support for librarians. Sports, Music and Art programs were closed during COVID.
Bicycles are awarded to graduating 6th graders so that they might transport themselves to secondary school, often quite far from their villages. Other expenses include repairs and improvements. Two dormitories are operated for high school students.
