Program areas at NuGenesis Farm
Giving garden initiative - the giving garden initiative supports a year-round volunteer program that engages community members of all ages in the cultivation of organic produce and the donation of 50% of all produce to local food pantries. It has fostered the expansion of the Nugenesis educational gardens and the extension of the growing season from six to twelve months.
Evidence/research - the Nugenesis food institute compiles and disseminates a range of online and print food resources that support the Nugenesis mission. Materials include a cookbook, an extensive food resource guide and an online food database.
Community wellness initiative - the wellness initiative uses public and private classes to teach community members how to grow, cook and understand the power of food, with the intention of preventing disease and improving disease outcomes. Public wellness cooking, nutrition, and gardening classes are taught by local food experts. Nugenesis also partners with local businesses to promote workforce wellness through educational programming tailored to employee's specific needs and interests. Nugenes
