MESA's highly particpatory programs engage U.S. residents, mainly from historically marginalized communities, in agroecology certificate classes, hands-on farm workshops, urban beekeeping apprenticeships, micro-enterprise development, mentorship and sustainable farm apprenticeships. Most programs are facilitated with collaborating nonprofit partners in California and Florida.
Mini Grants. Sustainable Projects for Regeneration, Innovation and Growth SPRIG Graduates of any MESA program are invited to apply for SPRIG funds to develop or support their sustainable farm or community-based project. SPRIG grants typically range from $250-$1500 per project.
Exchange Program.MESA sponsors annual agricultural exchanges between international trainees aka Stewards and U.S.-based farms and companies aka Hosts. MESA provides grant support for farms with educational focus to further support mentorship and innovative small-scale projects. MESA provides visa sponsorship, monthly program benefits, educational events and staff support services for its international Stewards and U.S. Host ParticipantsInternational program. MESA forms strategic relationships with global partner NGOs and universities around the world that are committed to sustainable agriculture.
